We’re officially in the final stretch. Twisted Minds, Twisted Fates releases October 7th—and until then, I’ll be sharing one random excerpt each week. No context. No explanation. Just a glimpse into the story that’s been living in my bones for four years.
Think of it as a ritual offering. A breadcrumb trail. A whisper from the haunted corners of the book.
These fragments won’t be labeled. You won’t know who’s speaking, where we are, or what’s already been lost. That’s part of the magic. Each line is a doorway—and you’re invited to step through without a map.
Here’s this week’s excerpt:
"The door closed behind her. And Liza was alone again. The silence returned. But now it was thinner. Fractured. The world was still moving. Still counting. Still watching. And Liza? She was just another box unchecked. Another body to be accounted for.
They didn’t come back right away. Not for hours. Liza stayed on the floor, unmoving, eyes open, watching the light shift across the ceiling. Eventually, the door opened again. Two staff members entered—one with a clipboard, the other with gloves...."
Maybe it’s a warning. Maybe it’s a promise. Maybe it’s the beginning of the end.
I won’t tell you. But I will say this: every character in this book is chasing something. Redemption. Revenge. Release. And sometimes, what they find is far stranger than what they sought.
So, if this line lingers… let it. Let it echo. Let it rot sweetly in the back of your mind. We’ve got eight weeks to go, and the descent has already begun.
See you next week for another fragment. Until then—keep your candles lit, your doors locked, and your heart open to the strange.
Signed, your favorite emotionally unstable folklore cryptid <3
